TIMMINS - A transport driver passing vehicles and kicking up snow during a storm has been charged.

Just after 5:30 p.m. on March 5, South Porcupine OPP stopped an eastbound commercial motor vehicle (CMV) east of Porcupine.

"The CMV driver was passing smaller vehicles during the storm causing snow dust, making it impossible for anyone (oncoming or behind) to see," said OPP in an email.

The 67-year-old driver from Timmins is charged with unsafe move - lane or shoulder.

With the storm still ongoing, a number of area highways remain closed today due to the weather.

Police remind drivers to go slow if they see snow.
