James Bay OPP seized a suspected $32,000 worth of fentanyl in Moosonee on Jan. 28, 2025.

MOOSONEE - An unwanted person call led to 80 grams of fentanyl being taken off the street. 

Around 2 p.m. on Jan. 28, James Bay OPP received a call about three people at a residence on Moose Drive in Moosonee. 

Officers found three people inside the home and they were arrested for trespassing. A search led to the seizure of about 80 grams of suspected fentanyl with a street value of $32,000, and about 130 grams of cannabis. 

A 31-year-old man from Brampton is charged with: 

  • 2 counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
  • Obstruct a peace officer
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • Trespassing - fail to leave premises when directed
  • Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling

The accused is in police custody and appears in court today (Jan. 31). 

A 42-year-old man from Moosonee is charged with: 

  • Obstruct a peace officer
  • Failure to comply with release order
  • Failure to comply with probation order

The accused was released from custody and appears in court on March 11 in Moosonee.

A 36-year-old man from Moosonee is also charged with obstructing a peace officer and trespassing. The accused was released from police custody and appears in court on March 11.
