Happy election day, Timmins! Here's what you need to know to vote

It's election day in Timmins!

As voters head to the polls, a new mayor and council, as well as school board trustees, will be elected today.

While thousands of people have already taken advantage of the advanced online voting, here's what you need to know to cast a ballot today.

Hours

Polling stations are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you prefer to vote online, that option is also open until 8 p.m.

Where are the polling stations

If you received a voter's card , it will tell you what location to cast a ballot at. 

The polling stations are: Ward 1 - Renaissance Public School gym, 301 Shirley St.; Ward 2 - Maurice Londry Community Centre, 73 Main St., South Porcupine' Ward 3 - District School Board Ontario North Ease, 153 Croatia Ave., Schumacher; Ward 4 - Whitney Arena Hall, Highway 101 E., Porcupine; Ward 5 - Timmins Centennial Public School, 454 Wilcox St., Ecole secondaire catholique Theriault, 341 Theriault Blvd., Pinecrest Piblic School, 542 Toke St., Timmins, Timmins Museum gallery, 325 Second Ave.

What you need to vote

If you have a voter's card, bring that along with a piece of ID showing your name and address, such as your driver's licence, health card, or Ontario photo card. A list of other acceptable documents is available here

Results 

Once the polls close at 8 p.m., when the results are available they will be at timmins.ca. We'll also be offering election night coverage at TimminsToday.com.
