Thousands of people have taken advantage of online voting in Timmins.
As of yesterday morning (Oct. 19), city clerk Steph Palmateer said 5,582 had voted in the advanced polls, which are being offered online this election. Online voting opened Oct. 1 and runs until 8 p.m. on election day, Oct. 22.
In the last municipal election in 2014, Palmateer said there were 6,039 votes cast ahead of election day.
Polling stations will be open on Monday throughout the city from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for people wanting to cast a ballot in person.

To access the online voting portal, you will need your voter notification card, which has a number to register. When you are voting, make sure you fill out the entrie ballot because after it's submitted it can't be altered.
