Timmins man, aged 59, charged with break and enter

Also faces charge of possession of property obtained by crime in relation to an incident at a Kamiskotia residence

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with break and enter stemming from an incident at a Kamiskotia residence during the morning hours of Friday, July 12.

The Timmins Police Service officers who attended the scene initiated an investigation and located a suspect and took him into custody.

Further investigative efforts were undertaken by the Timmins Police Service – Forensic Identification Unit in regards to the residential break-in.

As a result of the incident, Joseph Chenier, 59, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Break and enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused has been released from custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Sept. 3 to answer to the charges laid against him.
