Community safety is the focus of an upcoming public town hall.

The City of Timmins is holding a "citizen's forum" to talk about community safety on Thursday, June 15 from 7-9 p.m. at the McIntyre Community Centre ballroom. It's being hosted by Mayor Michelle Boileau and city councillors. Timmins Police Service Board representatives will also be attending.

Recently, there have been concerns shared on social media about community safety and calling for Living Space to be relocated.

At the town hall, the city says people can "share their experiences, suggestions, and concerns around community safety in a respectful and open environment."

"The goal of this public town hall is to create an opportunity for dialogue between city officials and community members," reads the City of Timmins news release.

"City council has identified safety as a priority over the current electoral term. Public engagement is important to help inform plans moving forward, including delivering on the City's Community Safety and Well-Being Plan (CSWBP). The feedback received will be shared with CSWBP System Leadership Committee and relevant action tables."
