THUNDER BAY – A female driver was pronounced dead at the scene Thursday following a collision between a car and a school bus on Oliver Road.
Thunder Bay Police Service was called to the 1500 block of Oliver Road shortly after 8 a.m.
There were no injuries to any of the students on the bus, who were headed to École Gron Morgan according to Lakehead Public Schools.
The Thunder Bay Police Service and Canadian Mental Health Association's Integrated Mobile Police Assessment Crisis Team unit responded and has been providing assistance.
A section of Oliver Road remains closed west of the Thunder Bay Expressway but is expected to reopen later Thursday afternoon.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area until the road has reopened.
The Traffic Unit and Forensic Identification Unit are involved in the ongoing investigation.
