DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD ONTARIO NORTH EAST

District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) held its’ organizational meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019. The purpose of the organizational meeting is to elect a chair and vice-chair for the board for the following year.
Bob Brush was acclaimed as board chair, and Dennis Draves was acclaimed as vice-chair. Mr. Brush and Mr. Draves will serve as chair and vice-chair for their third consecutive term.
“It a distinct pleasure to have been selected by the trustees as chair of the board for another term. The Chair plays an important role for the board and I am proud to continue to serve our communities in this capacity. It is a pleasure to work with Director Dye and her senior administration team. We are entering another exciting year and will continue to focus on student achievement and well-being," said returning Chair Brush.
“I thank the Board of Trustees for their confidence in me. I would like to thank the trustees and all of the staff at the board for all that they do for students. I look forward to serving the board as vice-chair for another year," added Vice-Chair Draves.
The chair and vice-chair serve a one-year term and are elected each year during the first meeting in December.
