Parents in the North have a slightly different flair for baby names than the rest of the province.
The province has compiled all of the baby names for 2023, with Olivia and Noah taking the top spots. For Olivia, this is the 15th consecutive year that she's taken the top spot. Noah has been the most popular name for five years running.
In the North, the most popular girl's name was Charlotte, with Jack at the top of the list for boys.

If you're wondering how many times this year's top names have been used over the last century, the wait is over.
"Welcoming a new baby and choosing a name is one of life’s most meaningful milestones, and our government is dedicated to helping new parents focus on these special moments rather than paperwork,” said Todd McCarthy, Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement, in a news release.
“With ServiceOntario’s 5-in-1 Newborn Bundle, we’ve made it easier for Ontario parents to register their newborns and apply for essential documents like birth certificates and Social Insurance Numbers—all from the comfort of their home.”
Parents should register their child's birth within 30 days of welcoming them, says the province.
