TIMMINS - After a series of serious incidents in Timmins in recent weeks, a special council meeting is being held two days before Christmas.
Timmins council is holding a meeting on Monday, Dec. 23 to talk about safety concerns in the downtown core, the city shared on Facebook today.
While the date is in the city's calendar, there is no agenda available yet. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. at city hall.
Council's last scheduled meeting of the year was on Dec. 10.
In the past week, there have been two shootings in the downtown area, along with an assault at the transit station and a series of break-ins at businesses.
