TIMMINS - The city is already looking at how it's spending cash next year and wants your input.

The City of Timmins budget survey launches on Monday, Sept. 16 and is open until Oct. 27.

"The city’s municipal budget process began in June with budget preparation," reads a news release.

"Department  reviews is a month’s long process, led by the finance department, before city council  approves the 2025 taxation fund and sets the municipal tax rates for the following year. Part of  that process includes asking residents to provide input on items such as city services, value for  tax dollar, and investments in capital projects."

The online survey is available in French and English and takes three to four minutes to complete. For people needing access to a computer or the internet, the survey can be done online at the main Timmins Public Library branch on 2nd Avenue in downtown Timmins or at the C.M. Shields Centennial Library branch at 99 Bloor Ave. in South Porcupine.

"Public engagement, especially when it comes to budget and municipal spending, helps ensure transparency, informed decision-making, and strategic planning. The city is actively working to help residents better understand the landscape of local issues and program and service delivery as they relate to local government," reads the release.

Once it's live, the survey is available here.
