Beaver Tails are raising cash for the kayak festival

Car wash and BBQ

Friday, Aug. 2, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Timmins Police station parking lot, 185 Spruce St. S.

It's being hosted by victim services, along with the Timmins Police Community Services Section, and Youth in Policing Ambassador students. Used or refurbished cell phones are also being collected and will be distributed to victims of crime in the community.

Timmins Museum parking lot

Enjoy a sweet treat and support the upcoming 11th Annual Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival. Proceeds of the sales are for the event that's being held later this month.

Mountjoy Farmers' Market

Saturday, Aug. 3, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Participark parking lot

Check out the fresh produce as well as other locally-made and handmade items at the weekly market.

Tai Chi demonstrations

Saturday, Aug. 3, 10 - 11 a.m.

Mattagami River boat launch

The FLK Taoist Tai Chi Timmins Branch is doing demonstrations throughout the summer.

Timmins Public Library 

Build a reading nook with Crazy Forts.

Open Studio

Sunday, Aug. 4, noon - 4 p.m.

Roy Nicholson Park, intersection of Pine Street North and 8th Avenue 

Meet the artists at the Porcupine Art Club. The event happens rain or shine.

Science Timmins

The highly interactive exhibit showcases the science, psychology and athleticism behind extreme sports. Science Timmins is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday it’s open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission to the exhibit is $5 over and above the regular admission, which is $10 for adults, $8 for children, and free for members.
