11th Annual Fill an Ambulance Toy Drive
Saturday, Nov. 26, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Canadian Tire and Walmart parking lots
The Cochrane District EMS and CDSSAB staff are holding their annual toy drive. Bring a new unwrapped toy, gift or donation from children and youth up to the age of 18 years who are in need. Items for babies and teens are always in demand and in short supply. Stop by to see a display of products from local Indigenous artisans. On Saturday, there will be drumming and dancing at 11:30 a.m. and Indian tacos at noon. Sunday, bannock on a stick is being served at 11 a.m. and Jean Wesley is leading a dream catcher workshop at 1 p.m. The dreamcatcher workshop is free, but spaces are limited. Hometown Christmas Bazaar and Tea

Enjoy homemade soup and sandwiches topped off with delectable desserts, coffee and tea. There will be a raffle for an adult and child's gift basket. Baking, preserves and homemade foods will also be for sale. The cost is $12.
Pet Photos with Santa

The Timmins and Districty Humane Society’s annual fundraiser is back. Bring your fur family to get a photo with Santa. The Grinch will also be available on Nov. 26. The cost is $20 for one portrait sitting. Additional portrait sittings are $5 each. Bring a USB to save your photo.
8th Annual Tree Lighting
Saturday, Nov. 26, 6 p.m.
Hollinger Park
Watch as the City of Timmins flips the switch on a 40-foot white spruce with 4,000 lights. There will be a performance by the Timmins Symphony Choir and free hot chocolate courtesy of Tim Hortons. Mr. And Mrs. Claus are also making the trek from the North Pole to hear your Christmas wishes in person.
Tree Lighting

Scout Hall, Legion Drive, South Porcupine
After a hiatus because of COVID-19, people are invited to take in this ceremony beside the Scout Hall to light and decorate the tree. The hall will be open for a music sing-along, homemade cookies and hot chocolate. There will also be 50/50 tickets available, with the draw on Dec. 16.
FIFA Fever
Sunday, Nov. 27, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Croatian Hall, Schumacher
Kick off the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the livestream of Croatia vs Canada. Enjoy the game on the big screen with other football fans. Tickets are $10 for the game or $20 to add a full Croatian breakfast to the mix. Breakfast will be served from 9-11 a.m. The bar at the hall opens at 11 a.m. Tickets are available online. In-person sales are Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 4-6 p.m. at the hall.
