Hockey game scores 570 pounds of food, cash for Kapuskasing charity

The Flyers skated away with the win over first responders

KAPUSKASING - A thrilling hockey game between first responders and a local team scored big for the food bank. 

On Saturday (Jan. 13), the Kapuskasing Flyers hockey team took on members of the OPP and Kapuskasing Fire Department. 

Held at the Kapuskasing Sports Palace, the Flyers won 12-10.

"The true winners were the residents in need, as 570 pounds of non-perishable food and $540 in monetary donations were collected for the Kapuskasing Food Bank," reads an OPP news release.

"The OPP, along with the Kapuskasing Flyers and local firefighters, express their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event."
