People are needed to help spruce up the city this weekend.
The Homeless Coalition of Timmins is getting together for Timmins Get Clean being held Saturday, June 16.
At the recent Timmins council meeting, clerk Steph Palmateer said people who want to help out are encouraged to visit the group’s Facebook page.
“This is where the event details will be updated as they are confirmed, they’re also encouraging people to pre-register via their Facebook site,” Palmateer said. “They will be hosting an event registration at the First Baptist Church located on Second Avenue at 10 a.m. and then the clean-up locations will be assigned to the volunteers during the registration and the clean-up will occur from between 10:30 am ‘til noon.”
After volunteers are done cleaning up the areas, there is a community meal at the church.
