The general snow depth and water conditions are above normal, according the Mattagami Region Conservation Authority (MRCA).
In its watershed update, the MRCA reports the water content variances are 160 to 368 per cent above normal across the Upper Mattagami Watershed.
A flood warning remains in effect until May 8 for the Mattagami River and the Timmins Flood Advisory Committee has been meeting regularly.
MRCA and city staff are also monitoring stream flows and water levels daily. According to the MRCA, Town Creek and Crawford Creek, along with other watercourses, are flowing well.
"Winter drawdown of Mesomikenda, Mattagami Lake, Wawaitin and Peter Long have been completed, and where possible, these reservoirs have been drawn lower than normal in preparation for the snowmelt," reads the report.
"As a result of the recent rain and snowmelt conditions, inflows are higher than normal for this time of year and storage reservoirs are being managed in consultation with the Flood Advisory Committee in an attempt to “peak shave” and mitigate high water concerns in the City of Timmins."
