Results from the annual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) survey put out by Colleges Ontario reveal that Northern College, at 87.1 percent, had the highest Graduate Employment rate amongst all Northern Ontario English Language colleges.
Northern College’s rate was also significantly higher than the provincial average of 83.6 percent.
Combined with their high graduate employment rate, Northern also had the fifth highest Graduate Satisfaction rate in the province at 84.3 percent.
Colleges Ontario published the 2015-16 academic year KPI survey results for all 24 of Ontario’s publicly funded colleges Wednesday.
The survey measures a range of performance and satisfaction factors, including graduate, employer and student satisfaction rates and graduate employment rates.
“Preparing our students with the skills, experience and networks that help lead to meaningful work is at the heart of what we’re about,” says Fred Gibbons, President of Northern College. “These survey results clearly reinforce that Northern College is an excellent choice for Ontario students that positions them very well for the real career opportunities in today’s workplace.”
The college was also pleased that ongoing efforts at enhancing the overall student experience continue to pay dividends and were reinforced by this year’s improved student satisfaction numbers.
Of current student survey participants, 75.4 percent reported being either very satisfied or satisfied with their experience at Northern College, a growth of .7 percent over last year.
This continues a positive trend which has seen an improving student satisfaction score every year for the past five years.
