Timmins Police continue to investigate the death of a 28-year-old woman earlier this month.

Chelsea Nakogee of Porcupine was found behind the Porcupine Mall early the morning of Nov. 12.

Timmins Police corporate communications co-ordinator Marc Depatie said the cause of death will not be released until the service has the coroner’s report, which could take until the new year to receive. Right now, he said it is still a criminal investigation and foul play has not been ruled out.

For the investigation, an area behind the mall was taped off.

Police are still asking for the public’s help with any relevant information about the investigation.

They said the Criminal Investigations Division is grateful for the people and businesses who have provided videos.

“Investigators are continuing to review video surveillance from various areas of the city,” reads an update from police.

“These video elements have assisted with a number of facets of the investigation including determining a timeline as to when the deceased was last observed, and who she may have interacted with prior to her death.”

Anyone with information can contact Timmins Police at 705-264-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
