On Friday, March 13, ReadyQuip in Timmins celebrated the completion of their 1.5 million dollar expansion.

The construction led by Gorf Manufacturing, began in August 2014 and completed in March.

“The expansion allows for more opportunities for ReadyQuip to help service our customers,” said Jason Denis, Spokesperson and Sales and Marketing Coordinator for ReadyQuip Timmins. “There were a lot of opportunities ReadyQuip was missing out on as we did not have the proper facilities. With the new facilities and the 20 Ton crane installed, it’s going to open up a lot of opportunities that we simply weren’t able to do before.”

The new facilities feature a 20 ton crane and ample space to service heavy equipment.

“Before, our mechanics worked outside, in not so pleasant conditions,” said Denis. “With the new facilities, our employees won’t have to work in not so ideal weather.”

In attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony we’re Mayor Steve Black, Ward 1 Councillor Andre Grzela, Ward 5 Councillor Mike Doody, City official Joe Torlone, ReadyQuip Manager Mike Larose, Gorf Manufacturing representatives, as well as clientele and community partners.

Mayor Steve Black awarded ReadyQuip with a plaque from the City of Timmins, congratulating the business on their continued success, while Ward 1 Councillor awarded ReadyQuip with a plaque on behalf of NDP MPP Gilles Bisson.

Company President Guy Larose called in during the ceremony to thank the community partners and congratulate on the completion of the expansion.

ReadyQuip offered a special thank you to Mark Norkum Sr and Mark Norkum Jr of Gorf Manufacturing.

A plaque of excellent work was presented to Gorf Manufacturing.

Leon Laforest was also thanked for his engineering services and overseeing the project.

ReadyQuip has been servicing the Timmins Area for over 30 years.

Manager Mike Larose thanked its many community partners for their continued support and looks forward to building new relationships with other businesses.
