IROQUOIS FALLS – On April 13, 2016, the North East Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Unit was called to investigate an assault which took place sometime overnight at the Monteith Correctional Complex located in Iroquois Falls.
Investigation determined that on April 13, 2016 at approximately 2:50 a.m. staff members at the Monteith Correctional Facility located a 35-year-old male inmate in his cell who had been assaulted.
He was subsequently transported by ambulance to a hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
As a result of the investigation, the following males, who are currently inmates of the Correctional Facility, have been arrested and charged in connection with this incident.
Michael Allen, 36 years old, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Clifford Anderson, 58 years old, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Kevin Dupere, 31 years old, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Gregory Redbreast, 34 years old, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Justin Skinner Withers, 38 years old, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
Adam Stoney, 24 years old, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
All six males have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 22, 2016.
