Temiskaming Shores will host delegates from across Ontario during the Municipal Agriculture Economic Development and Planning Forum this October.

Delegates from across the province will gather in Temiskaming Shores this fall as the community plays host to the Municipal Agriculture Economic Development and Planning Forum.

Hosted by the city and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the 15th annual event will take place Oct. 17 to 19. This marks the first time the event has been held in Northern Ontario.

The forum is an opportunity for municipal planners to network, learn about Northern producers, and tour local agriculture operations.

This year’s conference theme is ‘Connect, Collaborate, Cultivate Agriculture Across Ontario.’

On day one, delegates will have a meet-and-greet with local food sampling, while on day two, visitors will tour the area to see agriculture development in the region. Day three will feature a roster of speakers and networking opportunities.

The event is geared toward those working in rural planning, economic development, or the agriculture sector.

Registration for the event is expected to open shortly.
