TIMMINS - City elves are busy behind the scenes getting all the lights in the right place.

The 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Hollinger Park is on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 5:45 p.m. Hosted by the City of Timmins and Newmont Porcupine, this year's theme is Go big ... or go back to the North Pole!

There is a jam-packed festive schedule.

The Lapointe sisters are leading a French sing-a-long, Pat Picard School of Dance is performing, there's free hot chocolate from the McIntyre Coffee shop and Dream Acres is stopping by with alpacas. There's also a chance to snap a selfie with Santa Claus.

Non-perishable food donations for both food banks are being collected by École secondaire catholique Thériault's cross-country team.
