TIMMINS - It will be a little longer before people can dive into the city pool.

A tentative date has been set to reopen the pool at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex, though it is longer than the four- to six-week closure that was expected.

Dec. 2 is the date the City of Timmins is eying to reopen the pool.

"Unfortunately, there have been delivery delays on necessary supplies, which is completely out of the City and contractor control," reads a City of Timmins update.

"We are working hard to get the pool open and will continue to provide updates as we move forward."

The pool has been closed since Sept. 9 because of mechanical issues.

In September, a $316,496 contract was awarded to N. Lacroix Plumbing and Heating to supply and install a boiler system and water heating coil at the pool. The cost of the contract isn't impacted by the changes, says the city.
