There is a company in town soliciting Water Filtration Systems.
Kirkland Lake has recently passed a By-Law that requires a license for door to door soliciting, but they have by-passed this through calling first and telling you that you have won a prize and get you to invite them into your home.
The Town of Kirkland Lake is NOT affiliated with any company selling water filtration systems.

Kirkland Lake strives to protect citizens against high pressure salespeople by enforcing the Hawker Peddler bylaw.
The application process includes a Better Business Bureau investigation and criminal reference checks for all salespeople.
We want to know who will be going door to door in our town.
Out-of-town sales businesses are bypassing the need to obtain a Hawker Peddler licence by phoning residents in advance and being ‘invited’ to show their wares.
Some use the ploy that the resident has won a prize... BUYERS BEWARE.
We do not know of these companies, nor do we endorse their products.
