Timmins Film Society presents: Alfred Hitchcock’s the Birds
Monday, Jan 20, 7 p.m.

Timmins Film Society brings this classic to the screen as part of their classic film series. The Birds is a 1963 American natural horror-thriller film produced and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, released by Universal Pictures and starring Jessica Tandy, Rod Taylor, Suzanne Pleshette, and introducing Tippi Hedren in her film debut. Tickets are available online.

Timmins Rock vs. Soo Thunderbirds
Thursday, Jan. 23, 7:30 p.m.
McIntyre Arena, 85 McIntyre Rd.

Timmins’ Junior A hockey squad is on home ice for a regular season game. The box office opens 90 minutes before the puck drops. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60 years and up) and students, $9 for youth ages seven to 12, and $7 for children six and under with a guardian. Sitting on the licensed balcony is $17. Tickets are also available online here

Team Captains Meeting

Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins, 187 Cedar St. S.

The Coldest Night of the Year is coming up, with the captains meeting this weekend. The eighth fundraising walk in Timmins is on Feb. 22. This year's goal is to raise $65,000 for ACT to support their work in increasing access to fresh, healthy and affordable food. 

Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Ball Hockey Tournament
Saturday, Jan. 25 
Full Beard Brewery, 219 Wilson Ave.

Celebrate Full Beard’s ninth anniversary with this fun event. Tickets are $20 for a day full of ball hockey and lunch, with the Rotary Club of Timmins-Porcupine running the barbecue. At night there is live music. Tickets are available at the brewery and on Full Beard’s website.

I Know My Rights Comedy Special
Saturday, Jan 25, 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.
École secondaire catholique Thériault

Rick Lemieux will be recording his first comedy special that will be available on Prime Video Direct and he’s bringing some local talent with him. Be there for the taping of the special and a night of comedy. Tickets are available online.

Chamber Voices
Sunday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m.
St. Matthew's Cathedral, 331 Fifth Ave.

The Timmins Symphony Chamber ensemble is performing with the Timmins Symphony Chorus. Tickets are $25, or $15 for people under 30 years. They're available online here.

Lace Up 

There are maintained outdoor rinks at Leo DelVillano Park, the Mountjoy Arena, Roy Nicholson Park and the Whitney Arena. The Hollinger Skate Path in the heart of the city is also open for the season.
