Matheson Fall Fair is back in action

West Cache Information Session
Thursday, Aug. 29. 5-8 p.m.
Lions Club Hall, McIntyre Community Building, 85 McIntyre Rd. 

Learn about the West Cache Gold Advanced Exploration Project in the west end of Timmins. Coffee, tea and refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Ryan Lougheed at [email protected] or call 705-363-0770.

Matheson Fall Fair
Saturday, Aug. 31
Floyd Hembruff Civic Centre

This annual fair offers a variety of activities for the whole family. There's traditional agricultural exhibits and contest, live auction, dunk tank, parade, and more. Check out the event schedules on the Matheson and District Agricultural Society Facebook page. The fairground admission is $10 each and free for kids 12 years and under.

Mountjoy Farmers' Market
Every Saturday, 9 a.m. - noon
537 Pavilion Dr., Timmins

This popular market is set up weekly until Thanksgiving. Stop by every week to pick up fresh local food, shop the crafters and artisans, and learn more about local organizations.

Napolean: Dear God Tour
Saturday, Aug. 31, 8 p.m.
The Victory Tavern, 91 Cedar St. S.

Daggers Wild are also on stage for this night of live music in downtown Timmins. Tickets are $10 each. People must be 19 years or older to attend. Tickets are available online here.

Summer Open Studio
Sundays, Noon-4 p.m.
Roy Nicholson Park, Pine Street North and 8th Avenue

Drop by the Porcupine Art Club to meet with the artists, see demonstrations, and learn about the club. Artwork is on display and for sale. All ages are welcome to visit, and there is no cost to attend. Rain or shine, the studio is open!

Wild Alchemy
Runs until Aug. 29
Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave.

This exhibit by the Broken Forest is in the Grey Gallery. The show tends to focus on our gaze on loss of biodiversity in the forest and asserts a metaphysical connection to the trees that is also threatened. It includes artists from Poland, Germany, the United States, Brazil, Colombia and Canada. The museum is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
