Timmins Film Society Presents Spirited Away
Monday, Oct. 7, 7 p.m.
Imagine Cinema, 215 Cedar St. S.

The 2024 Timmins Film Society season is underway. This week's movie is an animé film about a sullen 10-year-old girl who wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits. It's a world where humans are changed into beasts. Tickets are available online here.

Images and Mots by Bravo Nord Opening exhibit
Wednesday, Oct. 9, 5 p.m.
Timmins Museum: NEC, 325 Second Ave. 

This exhibition of work is on display in the museum's Grey Gallery from the launch date to Nov. 17. At the opening, meet some of the 11 artists who interpreted two poems of their choice, using a variety of media and artistic approaches. The poems used as inspiration are part of the exhibit.

The Heart of Gold action isn't over quite yet. Festival pass holders have access to this bonus show, and individual tickets are available as well. Tickets can be bought online here

 

 

 

Timmins Rock vs. Iroquois Falls Storm

Timmins’ Junior A hockey squad is on home ice for a regular season game. The box office opens 90 minutes before the puck drops. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60 years and up) and students, $9 for youth ages seven to 12, and $7 for children six and under with a guardian. Sitting on the licensed balcony is $17. Tickets are also available online here.

Mountjoy Farmers' Market
Saturday, Oct. 12 9 a.m. - noon

It's the last weekend of the season for the popular farmers' market. Stop by to pick up fresh local food, shop the crafters and artisans, and learn more about local organizations.

The Hollinger Open Pit Lookout 

It's the final weekend to get a glimpse into Newmont Porcupine’s mining operation in the middle of town. New this year is a bust of mining pioneer Benny Hollinger, who discovered the mine in 1909. It’s open seasonally seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. except when the mine is blasting, which is twice a day.
