Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Little Abitibi - Kesagami Lake
  • Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls

This winter weather travel advisory is in effect for tonight.

Snow at times heavy is expected to move in from the west this evening before reaching the Quebec border overnight. Snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour is possible. Total snowfall amounts of near 10 cm are expected. Snow will taper off from west near midnight.

Periods of freezing drizzle is also possible overnight into Christmas morning. A freezing drizzle advisory may be issued later.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
