Timmins volunteers and benefactors have a new organization to work with.
The 100 Women Who Care Timmins and Area group is holding its first meeting at the at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre on Jan. 26. Registration will begin at noon, and the meeting will start both in person and virtually at 1 p.m.
Members are expected to donate $100 four times a year to support local charities.
"We're bringing together women who want to make an immediate, direct impact in our community." said 100 Women Who Care Timmins and Area chair Kim Hallworth. "In just one hour, four times a year, we can create significant positive change for local organizations and individuals in need."
The organization is one of over 800 chapters world-wide.
The group is looking for members and sponsors to help with administration and other necessities.
The event will include a social between noon and 1 p.m. and the inaugural meeting from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
