A young Timmins family has won $244,942.
Mitch and Billie-Jo Menard won the May 50/50 draw held by the Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) Foundation.
"They had the pleasure of bringing Willa into their lives in the TADH delivery room two months ago," according to the foundation announcement.
"Registered nurse Mallerie, their super hero, provided excellent care and advice the day Willa was born."
They plan to invest in Willa's education and pay off bills with their winnings.
The couple has been playing the draw every month.
"Mitch is a Leafs fan and felt he was sure to win the lottery since they lost game five," reads the announcement.
"We first called the number on the ticket and it was Billie-Jo that answered. When she heard who it was she asked if Mitch had won. Jason Laneville, foundation executive director, started to chuckle but told Billie-Jo he couldn't confirm and that we needed to talk to Mitch. She quickly gave us his phone number. When we reached Mitch by phone Friday morning his response was 'You are not joking right now, are you?'"
Tickets for the June draw are already on sale. They are only available online here.
