$10K in drugs, stolen items seized in Timmins

TIMMINS - A police search of a Fifth Avenue residence saw $10,000 of stolen items and drugs seized. 

On Sept. 10, the Timmins Police Service executed a search warrant on the street in the north side of the city. 

Police say about $6,000 of stolen property was seized, along with drugs with an estimated street value of $4,000 and a gun. 

A 32-year-old man from Timmins was arrested on Sept. 13. He is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and trafficking in property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Three other people who were wanted for other incidents were also arrested, says police. 

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 22.

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
