Three people are facing charges after a traffic stop led to drug trafficking charges.
James Bay OPP seized a variety of drugs with a street value of $60,000 on Aug. 13 after officers conducted a traffic stop on Moose Drive in Moosonee around 2 p.m.
Officers seized suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, crystal meth and methamphetamines. Cellphones and about $1,000 in Canadian cash were also found.
Three people are facing charges.
Yonis Gabaire, 19, of Brampton is charged:
- 2 counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- 2 counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Jennifer Soloman, 39, and Cathy Wesley, 35, both of Moosonee are charged with:
- 2 counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- 2 counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
The three accused have been held in police custody waiting for a bail hearing today (Aug. 16).
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
