Two more people are facing murder charges in a missing person case in Kirkland Lake.
Ashley Lafrance was reported missing on Sept. 9, 2022. The 29-year-old was last seen on Station Road in Kirkland Lake on Sept. 7.
Yesterday, Kirkland Lake OPP announced that 40-year-old Darcy Shail is charged with first-degree murder. It's a charge laid when the homicide is planned and deliberate.
Two more people have also been charged with first-degree murder.
The accused are 57-year-old Mark Anderson and 43-year-old Chantal Aube. Both are from Kirkland Lake. None of the allegations have been tested in court.
Lafrance's remains have still not been located.
Earlier this month, Kirkland Lake OPP conducted public searches for Lafrance and urged residents to check their properties and outbuildings.
The investigation is ongoing. It's being led by the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch with help from the Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit.
