The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident in regards to an incident yesterday Jan. 15 where a disturbance was reported to the police at an Algonquin Boulevard hotel.
Timmins Police Service officers responded to a late evening call regarding a person who was involved in a disturbance while visiting a guest of the hotel. A Timmins Police Service officer located the subject and recognized her as being bound by strict conditions not to consume alcohol imposed upon her by the Provincial Court in Timmins.
The woman was arrested after the validity of the court imposed conditions was confirmed by Timmins Police dispatch personnel.
As a result, Samantha Knapaysweet, 27, of Timmins was taken into police custody.
She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to a charge of fail to comply with recognizance contrary to the Criminal code of Canada laid against her.
