KIRKLAND LAKE - A baseball bat was brought into the mix during an early morning fight in a Kirkland Lake neighbourhood, says police.
Around 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 18, Kirkland Lake OPP say there was a disturbance on Government Road West in Chaput Hughes.
Police say the person reporting the altercation saw a group of people involved in it and a person brandish a baseball bat. The victims were brought to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Two people were arrested.
A 44-year-old Kirkland Lake man is charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a release order.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Kirkland Lake on Dec. 12.
A 27-year-old from Kirkland Lake is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused had been released from police custody and is slated to appear in court in Kirkland Lake on Nov. 28.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
