COCHRANE - One person was killed in a crash involving a pick-up truck and train.
The collision happened this morning (Jan. 7) around 10:15 a.m. at the rail crossing on Lillabelle Lake Road in Cochrane.
The driver of the pick-up truck — a 75-year-old Cochrane resident — was pronounced dead at the hospital, says James Bay OPP.
Lillabelle Lake Road is closed between McWhirter Road and Concession 6&7 for the investigation.
"The closure is expected to remain in effect for an extended period as investigators process the scene," said police in a news release.
The OPP's traffic incident management and enforcement (TIME) team is helping with the investigation.
