COCHRANE - Tales are wagging about this reunion.
James Bay OPP shared the paws-itive story on social media about an incident earlier this week.
An officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving on Highway 11 between Kapuskasing and Cochrane.
"The driver, Luc, was on a cross-country journey with his beloved dog, Gracie. The interaction started as an impaired driving investigation, but that transitioned when it became clear that Luc's driving was affected by a medical episode—not impairment. He was quickly taken to hospital by ambulance to receive the care he needed," wrote police.
While Luc was treated, the Cochrane animal shelter took care of Gracie. She was full of energy and excitement to be reunited with her owner, said police.
"We are happy to report Luc is doing well and was grateful for the care he received. Safe travels, Luc! We're glad to see you and Gracie back on the road together," said OPP.
