Driver found sleeping in vehicle charged with impaired

ENGLEHART - A person allegedly catching some Z's behind the wheel of a vehicle has been charged. 

On Feb. 20 around 8:40 a.m., Temiskaming OPP says someone spotted a person sleeping in a vehicle near a Third Street school in Englehart. Officers responded and found the vehicle in question. 

A 39-year-old man from Kirkland Lake is charged with operation while impaired - drugs, and possession of a Schedule I substance - cocaine.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver's licence was suspended for 90 days. 

The accused is slated to appear in court on March 4 in Haileybury. 

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
