The first-ever bursary honouring a Timmins Police officer who died earlier this year has been handed out.
Members of the municipal police service were special guests at the recent Northern College graduation.
Chief Dan Foy, deputy chief Henry Dacosta and Const. Darren McGaghran presided over the presentation of diplomas to the Police Foundations graduates.
Graduate Ty Landry received the inaugural Timmins Police Service bursary honouring the late Const. Dale MacDonald, who died of cancer in May.
"These graduates are the future of law enforcement and the Timmins Police Service was proud to be on hand to wish them all well in their future professional pursuits," said Timmins Police in a news release.
