One killed in fire near Hearst

While the cause of the blaze isn't known yet, police say foul play isn't suspected

JOGUES - Foul play isn't suspected after a fatal fire south of Hearst. 

On Dec. 28 around noon, first responders were called to a fire at a Hamann Road residence in Jogues, south of Hearst. 

Human remains were found on Dec. 30 and the body was brought to Toronto for a post-mortem examination on Jan. 2, says James Bay OPP. 

The North East Region OPP forensic identification service, crime unit and Fire Marshal were at the scene to help with the fire investigation. The Ontario coroner's office is also helping with it.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, police say foul play isn't suspected.
