One person was killed in a Highway 11 crash yesterday.
The two-vehicle collision happened near Swan Lake around 5:40 a.m. on Jan. 10. Kirkland Lake OPP confirmed on social media that one person died as a result.
For the investigation, which is ongoing, the road was closed between Matheson and Kenogami Lake for most of the day. It has since reopened.
This is the second fatal crash on Highway 11 in Northern Ontario so far this year.
Last week, a North Bay man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 near Sand Dam road. In 2022, at least 10 people were killed on the stretch of Highway 11 between Hearst and North Bay.
