The OPP is investigating a fatal snowmobile collision which took the life of a 51-year-old from Dowling.
Police are reporting that shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) OPP and the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Paramedic Services responded to a single Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) collision on trail C111D, about six kilometres from the town of Cartier.
A 51-year-old person, from Dowling, was transported to the local hospital by ambulance and succumbed to their injuries later that evening.
The OPP's Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are continuing to investigate.
The OPP would like to remind MSV operators, that most trails in the northeast region are still closed, but keep an eye on the interactive map on the OFSC site, found here.
