Police identify victims of fatal motorcycle crash

The Timmins Police Service – Traffic Services Section is continuing with its  investigation into a single vehicle collision that resulted in loss of life for two Timmins residents. 

The collision involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle equipped with a side car. 

The collision occurred on Municipal Road near the intersection of Girl Guide Camp Road at approximately 3:30 yesterday afternoon. 

Municipal Road was closed for several hours to allow for Timmins Police - Technical Traffic  Collision Investigators and Timmins Police – Forensic Identification Unit to complete the  technical aspects of the investigation.  

Orval Larocque, 64, and his spouse Pauline Larocque, 67, both of Timmins succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced at deceased at the scene of the collision. 

Next-of-kin notifications have been completed by the Timmins Police Service. 

Post mortem examinations have been called for and arrangements are being tended to by the  local Coroner’s office. 

The investigation now focuses on the root cause of the collision.  

An intensive scan of the collision scene as well as the collection of all physical evidence was  completed yesterday evening.  

The vehicle involved will be subjected to a thorough mechanical assessment.
