Police are warning the public about officers being in the Highway 101 area.
South Porcupine OPP shared a post on social media warning people that there's an increased police presence on Highway 101 east of Timmins between Retreat Road and Shillington. It's for an ongoing investigation, but police did not say what it is about.
"Be aware of your surroundings at all times and report suspicious activity to police by calling 1-888-310-1122," reads the post.
Police have been looking for 43-year-old Lucas MacDonald since late May in connection with the murder of 30-year-old Marcel Thoma in Egan Township, which is in the Matheson area.

MacDonald is described as 5' 8", dark collar-length hair with some grey, and a thin short beard. He was last seen wearing a ballcap with a bandana underneath it and wrap-around sunglasses.
There are also two outstanding warrants out for his arrest for breach of recognizance in unrelated matters
