NEW LISKEARD - Two search warrants led to the seizure of $160,000 in drugs, along with guns and more in the Temiskaming Shores area.
Two people have been charged after the searches were executed on Feb. 12 and 13 by Temiskaming OPP.
The first search was at an Armstrong Street residence in New Liskeard, with the second happening at a storage facility on Niven Street in Haileybury.
Suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine with a street value estimated at $160,000 were seized. Officers also found a handgun, rifles, brass knuckles, air rifles, ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, cell phones, digital scales and Canadian cash.
Two people from New Liskeard were arrested.
Darryl Pallister, 29, is charged with:
- 2 counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - crystal Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- Opioid(fentanyl)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine Tablets
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- 2 counts of careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with
- 3 counts of unauthorized possession of weapon
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Failure to comply with undertaking
Angelina Kirkey, 20, is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - crystal Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine Tablets
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- 2 counts of careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with
- 3 counts of unauthorized possession of weapon
- Breach of Recognizance
Both of the accused are in police custody and are scheduled to appear in court today (Feb. 14) in Haileybury.
The investigation included the OPP community street crime unit, tactics and rescue unit, Northeast Region emergency response team and the Temiskaming OPP crime unit.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
