KAPUSKASING - A driver is facing an impaired charge after a RIDE program in Kapuskasing.
On Nov. 9 just after midnight, a vehicle went through a RIDE program on Stewart Street in Kapuskasing. Officers determined the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance and was arrested and brought to the detachment for more testing.
Police allege the driver refused to complete part of the drug recognition evaluation.
A 52-year-old from Opasatika is charged with operation while impaired - drugs, and failing or refusing to comply with a demand.
The accused was released from custody and is slated to appear in court in Kapuskasing on Dec. 16. Their driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
