Suspected fentanyl seized during Moosonee search warrant

MOOSONEE - An early-morning search warrant led to the seizure of about $900 of drugs. 

Shortly after 12 a.m. today (Oct. 30), James Bay OPP executed a search warrant on Bert Trapper Drive in Moosonee. 

Police seized suspected fentanyl with a street value of $900 and Canadian cash. 

A 32-year-old man from Moosonee is charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5 in Moosonee. 

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
