Timmins man charged with careless driving in March crash (2 photos)

A 19- and 24-year-old were seriously injured in the 2-vehicle collision

The driver of one of the vehicles involved in a March crash has been charged. 

Timmins Police has finished its investigation into a March 28, 2022, crash involving a pickup truck and passenger vehicle at the intersection of Westmount and Airport Road. 

The jaws of life were used to extricate one person from a vehicle. Six people were injured, with three being brought to the hospital. The root cause of the crash, said police, resulted in serious injuries to the 19-year-old and 24-year-old passengers in the car.

Dharmesh Kishorbai Kaneriya, 25, of Timmins has been charged with careless driving.

"The accused has been served with a Provincial Offence Notice by the Timmins Police Service compelling him to enter a plea in a timely manner in answer to the charge laid against him," reads the news release.
