The Timmins Police Service announced today (Oct. 31) that Dinel has been appointed as deputy chief. The appointment is effective immediately.
“Darren Dinel has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication during his tenure as acting deputy chief,” said Kraymr Grenke, Timmins Police Service Board chair, in a news release.
“His appointment is a reflection of his outstanding work and the confidence we have in his ability to continue to lead the service forward, working alongside the leadership team.”
Dinel has been with Timmins Police since 1999.
He's been the acting deputy chief since November 2023.
When former chief Dan Foy left after less than two years in the role, Dinel took over as acting deputy chief.
