Two arrested on outstanding warrants

Both incidents took place on Monday

The Timmins Police Service arrested two local residents on the strength of respective arrest warrants stemming from separate incident that occurred on Monday, March 8.

While attending at a mid-morning “unwanted person” call for service at a Maple North apartment, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a person found on site as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Juanita Jeffries, 26, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant. She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at provincial court in Timmins to answer to charges stemming from a previous incident resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.

In a separate “unwanted person” call at a Wilson Street apartment, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a person found on site as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Lester Wynne, 37, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at provincial court in Timmins to answer to charges stemming from a previous incident resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.
